Detailed instructions on using WebDAV
TappIn Network Folder Access How-To-Guide
This describes in detail the steps to connect your TappIn share as a Network Folder on your computer.
What is WebDAV and why should I use it?
WebDAV stands for Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning. It is a set of extensions to the HTTP protocol that allows users to collaboratively edit and manage files on remoteWweb servers.
Since WebDAV support is built into all the popular Operating Systems (Windows, Macintosh, etc) available today, it is a good way to access the files you are working on remotely. This enables you to have access to all the storage and important data at home, from anywhere.
Rest assured, this is as secure as accessing your content using the TappIn website or the TappIn for iPhone application. The communication is encrypted and only you have access to your content using your email address and password.
TappIn Share URL Syntax
The URL to your TappIn share is: https://webdav.tappin.com/<firstname.lastname@example.org>/<yourShare>/
The "s" in "Https" is necessary for security.
You will need to log in using your email address and TappIn password. In our example, the user would sign in as user email@example.com with their TappIn password.
